Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Environmental Engineer for employment in our Fort Lauderdale FL office.

Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to the following:

  • Senior technical resource may serve as technical advisor for team.

  • Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.

  • Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high-quality cost-effective work by others.

  • Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.

  • Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.

  • Uses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package.

  • Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.

  • Prepares technical specification sections.

  • Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering

  • 6+ years of relevant professional experience

  • Must be a Professional Engineer (PE) registered in the State of Florida

  • 4 years of experience with environmental engineering design and preparation of design plans/specifications packages

  • 2 years of experience planning and directing environmental assessments

  • Must possess a valid driver's license & local travel required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working on Environmental Engineering Projects in South Florida

  • Experience working on deep injection well projects

  • Experience working with local permitting jurisdictions in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach County

  • Experience working on landfill design and remediation projects

  • OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER Certification

  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written

  • Strong commitment to ensuring safe project execution

  • Thorough knowledge of environmental engineering including site assessment and remediation
