Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Model-Based Engineer to serve as the sole System Engineer on projects of moderate complexity, or as a member of a team supporting larger or more complex projects, or may be required to support multiple projects simultaneously.

Duties are designed to provide support to Navy and Air Force teams, and Program Office in the analysis, development, implementations, and evaluation of project activities for the Strategic System Program and Ground Based Strategic Defense (GBSD) Weapons Systems. Analysis of ASIC and FPGA component and implemented performance in radiation environments and participation in construction of system models using MBSE tools and techniques incorporate the following:

  • Concept of Operations, (use cases)

  • System and Component Requirements

  • System and Design Architecture

  • Interface and Data Architectures

  • System Analysis

  • Engineering models (Performance, Life-Cycle, Reliability, Availability and Supportability)

  • System, integration and Operational Validation and Verification (identification, execution tracking, and capture)

  • Decision Analysis and Resolution

  • Integration of RH testing program plans with system design agents and GBSD Program

  • Creation and documentation of GBSD Parts RH testing program

  • Reporting activity progress and accountability

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical/electronic engineering or equivalent, Physics, or related field and ten (10) years of work experience required with 5 years of relevant work experience.

  • Ability to pass and maintain a top security clearance.

  • Travel (Less than 25%).

Must have demonstrated:

  • A solid understanding of engineering principals, missile equipment, and design requirements

  • Design and analysis of electronic circuits containing discrete, ASICs and FPGA components.

  • Ability to independently apply advanced techniques and analysis using complex methods on a continual basis

  • Capable of providing solutions to a variety of problems in an expeditious, efficient, and timely manner.

  • Ability to interact with OEM, Program Offices, vendors, customer systems, process and design engineers

  • Consensus building in resolving complex and interrelated issues in an efficient, effective and timely manner.

  • Command of governmental and multi-disciplined technical capability planning to supporting broad project applications.

  • Excellent communications and analytical skills;

  • Working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters Degree preferred

  • ?Design or testing electronic systems for radiation environments.

  • Interface with or operation in an MBSE environment.

  • Training or experience using MBSE and SE tools (CAMEO, MSA, Team Center, PLM, DOORS)

  • Military project/ program management in a development environment.

  • Interfacing and using government acquisition system.

  • DOD clearance (Secret or Top Secret).
