Job Summary

Provides clerical, administrative, and technical support to the Human Resources function. Works under general supervision.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Handles incoming and outgoing correspondence. Opens, date stamps, and distributes incoming mail. Prepares and sends outgoing mail including benefit change information.

  • Performs typing, word processing, spreadsheet, and data base work. Maintains correspondence, forms, listings, files, reports, and automated personnel records and information. Reconciles data in the automated Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and other sources of employee information.

  • Prepares and processes a complete range of personnel actions including hires (i.e., regular full-time, temporary, and part-time employees), rehires, terminations, transfers, pay changes, etc.

  • Notifies employees when medical and dental benefits become effective and ensures that corresponding payroll deductions are made.

  • Assists in the compilation and preparation of forms, reports, and projects.

  • Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum Position Requirement:

  • High school diploma or equivalent training/experience with 1 year of related experience

  • Good communication

  • Organizational and analytical skills

Working knowledge of word-processing, spreadsheet, and database software

Preferred Qualifications

  • Motivation to gain experience in Human Resources

  • Experience with HR systems

  • Prior HR experience
