Job Summary
An individual is required to work at Wake Island AFB, Wake Island as the Site Superintendent supervising all contract work during the repair of the Taxiway Bravo Ramp and Hot Cargo Pad.
Responsibilities:
Review and interpret site plans and specification packages, develop construction execution and work plans, and develop and evaluate appropriate task hazard analyses related to planned activities.
The Site Superintendent will monitor ongoing work activities with respect to compliance to contract documents and recommend modifications to work flow as required.
The Individual will apply selected management software systems to track task execution, project schedule and budget.
The Site Superintendent will submit routine/periodic reports and assist in the preparation of project completion reports.
The Site Superintendent will create clear, concise and organized documentation of field events and observations.
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
Be on-site during all construction activities.
Provide Safety oversight and hazard analysis for all onsite activities.
Lead project teams and ensure project completion within budget and schedule.
Attend AFCEC progress meetings, partnering meetings and quality control meetings.
Ensure conformance with design documents.
Assist with developing RFIs and contract modifications.
Prepare daily production reports.
Liaise with Wake Island base personnel and other Government Inspectors.
Work with AECOM Management and subcontractor management personnel.
Advise team members of specification requirements and recommend actions.
Minimum Requirements
Must Have Skills/Experience (Including any required Certifications):
Ideal candidate must be capable of interpreting a critical path schedule and construction drawings.
Minimum of 10 years construction experience with at least 5 years as a Site Superintendent.
Will be a graduate Civil Engineer or Construction Management with at least 10 years of construction experience.
Familiarity with government specifications and the requirements of EM 385-1-1.
Working knowledge of Federal Contract delivery and Federal Subcontracting.
Familiarity with FAR/DFAR requirements.
Knowledge and familiarity with construction building codes and standards as it relates to civil, structural, mechanical and electrical trades.
Will have reach back capability to technical expertise in AECOM offices in the US. Experience on heavy civil construction projects including earthwork, concrete paving, asphalt paving.
Airport and/or DoD runway or taxiway construction is a priority, due to the specific Scope of Work for this project.
Proficiency with Web based interactive programs and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) is required
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Skills/Experience:
Experience with electrical systems is preferred. Corps of Engineers Construction Quality Management for Contractors Certification is preferred.
OSHA 30-Hr Safety Training Experience with Remote / Austere projects
