Production Control Team Lead

This position can be a Salary Grade G08 or G09 based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position.

Position Overview:
The Planning and Production Control Lead will perform a variety business tasks in support of RMS Production programs. The candidate needs to be energetic, willing to learn, able to work independently and have the ability and desire to be a change agent. This individual will manage multiple people across multiple Value Streams in a fast paced environment. Effective management of assemblies and the associated tasks listed below are necessary in order to prevent a work stoppage or a slip in schedule, both of which would have a significant impact to the program’s cost and schedule requirements. This position may also support the accurate and compliant management of processes and records related to Government Furnished Material (GFM).

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and coordinate material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production/customer requirements
  • Responsible to evaluate and status the assemblies that are in progress, material availability, and potential production problems
  • Process RFM’s, STPR forms and PHR’s from the program and the RFEI factory
  • Solve any potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials, and services are provided as needed
  • Control and analysis of multiple and moderate complexity, Bills of Material in an MRP system
  • Confirm material supply demand and prepares necessary work orders based on shop load and inventory requirements
  • Schedule and expedite the movement of parts by means of move orders, stock transfers, and requests for shipping orders
  • Propose solutions to mitigate any work stoppage the factory teams may experience due to any slips in material supply
  • Interface with internal and external customers
  • Receipt and issue of Production hardware as well as managing inventory
  • Support program screening and disposition effort associated with contract close out
  • Coordinate and support inventory research
  • Support DCMA audits as needed

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • MRP, Inventory Management, JIT Concepts
  • Ability to critically think and use analysis skills to ensure detailed status provided to the Value Stream Manager and team
  • Ability to mentor and develop team members
  • Ability to contribute to the completion of organizational projects and goals
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to coordinate with various disciplines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to obtain/maintain and DOD Security Clearance
  • Experience with SAP systems
  • Ability to work some OT and odd hours
  • Ability to obtain/maintain a DOD Security Clearance

Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree. Majors may include but are not limited to the following or equivalent:
    • Business Administration
    • Supply Chain Management
    • Operations Management
  • Minimum of four (4) years’ experience in a fast paced Production environment.
  • Ten (10) years of creditable professional experience fully meeting requirements listed above will be considered in lieu of degree completion
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment.

Desired Skills:
  • Proficient with of MS Office Tools
  • Experience with SAP systems
Active DOD Security Clearance

To be consider for G09 position, candidate must have a minimum of Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in lieu of degree with 6 years of directly related experience, Master’s degree with 4 years of directly related experience.
