Production Control Team Lead
This position can be a Salary Grade G08 or G09 based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position.
Position Overview: The Planning and Production Control Lead will perform a variety business tasks in support of RMS Production programs. The candidate needs to be energetic, willing to learn, able to work independently and have the ability and desire to be a change agent. This individual will manage multiple people across multiple Value Streams in a fast paced environment. Effective management of assemblies and the associated tasks listed below are necessary in order to prevent a work stoppage or a slip in schedule, both of which would have a significant impact to the program’s cost and schedule requirements. This position may also support the accurate and compliant management of processes and records related to Government Furnished Material (GFM).
Evaluate and coordinate material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production/customer requirements
Responsible to evaluate and status the assemblies that are in progress, material availability, and potential production problems
Process RFM’s, STPR forms and PHR’s from the program and the RFEI factory
Solve any potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials, and services are provided as needed
Control and analysis of multiple and moderate complexity, Bills of Material in an MRP system
Confirm material supply demand and prepares necessary work orders based on shop load and inventory requirements
Schedule and expedite the movement of parts by means of move orders, stock transfers, and requests for shipping orders
Propose solutions to mitigate any work stoppage the factory teams may experience due to any slips in material supply
Interface with internal and external customers
Receipt and issue of Production hardware as well as managing inventory
Support program screening and disposition effort associated with contract close out
Coordinate and support inventory research
Support DCMA audits as needed
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
MRP, Inventory Management, JIT Concepts
Ability to critically think and use analysis skills to ensure detailed status provided to the Value Stream Manager and team
Ability to mentor and develop team members
Ability to contribute to the completion of organizational projects and goals
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to coordinate with various disciplines
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to obtain/maintain and DOD Security Clearance
Experience with SAP systems
Ability to work some OT and odd hours
Ability to obtain/maintain a DOD Security Clearance
Bachelor's Degree. Majors may include but are not limited to the following or equivalent:
Supply Chain Management
Minimum of four (4) years’ experience in a fast paced Production environment.
Ten (10) years of creditable professional experience fully meeting requirements listed above will be considered in lieu of degree completion
U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment.
Proficient with of MS Office Tools
Experience with SAP systems
Active DOD Security Clearance
To be consider for G09 position, candidate must have a minimum of Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in lieu of degree with 6 years of directly related experience, Master’s degree with 4 years of directly related experience.
