Job Description:

The Electronic Warfare (EW) Department is seeking a Senior Engineering Section Manager for our Hardware Engineering Center. Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems (SAS) division is responsible for the development of Electronic Warfare products. This Position is located in Goleta California, and/or El Segundo, CA

The primary role will be functional management, technical direction and program leadership on critical programs.
The Section Manager shall be capable of managing a multi-disciplinary group of engineers and subcontractors in developing Electronics for Electronic Warfare (EW) applications.

The section manager will be in charge of developing technical baseline for his specific domain(s) of expertise (Digital Electronics, Analog/Power Electronics, EO/IR Sensor Processing, FPGAs) and administering budgets, schedules, and performance standards. The Section Manager will also be responsible for achieving schedule milestones on-time and within allotted budget while managing his/her staff. The section is expected to solve technical issues within domain(s) of expertise and help teams in overcoming issues that impede program progress, allowing core staff to concentrate on their given Work Products. This position will be responsible for generating financial Estimate at Complete (EAC), supporting program Gate reviews, and facilitate independent Peer reviews of all Work Products. He/she will also participate in new business activities including proposals, preparing bids, and developing basis of estimates.

Experience should include functional & team management, including team leadership, staffing, staff management, performance & career development, team development and cost estimate proposals. Additional roles include interface with customer and program office & earned value management.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevent experience: participating in the design, development, integration/test, and sell-off of complex military electronics subsystems
  • Specific domain expertise in design and development of Digital Electronics, Analog/Power Electronics, EO/IR Processing, FPGAs
  • Experience with Requirements Development and Requirement Verification
  • Experience with developing technical baselines and cost volumes in response to Request for Proposals from the government
  • Ability to obtain Top Secret and above levels of security clearance including special program access
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance as of day one of employment
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems
