The AECOM Morrisville Geotech/Solid Waste Group is seeking an experienced Civil Designer to support design of various disposal facilities, earthen dams, and other geotechnical and solid waste related projects.
Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to the following:
Designing and preparing stormwater and grading plans for pond closure
Solid waste disposal facility design
Construction quantity takeoffs for cost estimating
Supporting calculations for earthwork
Stormwater management design
Solid waste design
Assisting in report preparation, site reconnaissance, and communications with the AECOM project team.
Reviews regulations and standards necessary to carry out project design and permitting work.
Analyze reports, maps, drawings, tests, and other topographical and geologic data to plan and design projects.
Incorporates schedules, budgets and project criteria into Civil design and layouts.
Assists design team in preparation of reports, plans, and other submittals.
Conduct occasional site reconnaissance to examine field conditions, drainage and erosion control needs, as built conditions, etc.
Work closely with the project team, including civil, geotechnical, mechanical engineers, surveyors to provide value to each project.
Knowledge or experience with coal ash, landfill design, and development, and coal combustion residuals (CCR)
BA/BS degree & 2 years of experience, OR AA/AS degree & 4 years of experience
2 years of AutoCAD Civil3D experience required.
Valid driver’s license
Landfill design and stormwater, erosion and sediment control design experience.
Microstation experience helpful.
