Job Summary

The AECOM Highways team are a key design partner to all 5 Strategic Highway Authorities across UK&I and we have a strong and diverse order-book. This position is a strategic recruitment for the AECOM Highways business to ensure we are well placed to win and deliver design services to further strengthen our position in Southern Ireland.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Head of Highways UK&I and will lead the Dublin Highways team. The Dublin Highways Design Team is a very capable and well respected group with a strong relationship with regional clients from the many projects delivered over the last decade. It is also a diverse team, capable of developing innovative and creative solutions for our clients.

Specific areas of responsibility for the person appointed into this role will include:

  • The safety and wellbeing of everyone involved in delivering Highways projects in the region

  • Strategic positioning of AECOM in the Ireland Highways market

  • Developing and maintaining client relationships

  • Achieving governance approval for new opportunities

  • Successful delivery of projects to quality, budget and time

  • Career development of the Dublin Highways team

  • Performance and rewards, recruitment and growth

Minimum Requirements

  • Recent senior level experience within a design consultancy based in Ireland

  • Good communication skills and track record of developing client relationships

  • Good understanding of the Ireland Highways market

  • Ability to supervise and mentor others

  • Someone who understands the value of equality and diversity within a team environment

  • Strong commercial skills with knowledge of NEC 3/4 conditions

  • Collaborative behaviours

Preferred Qualifications

  • Chartered Engineer

  • Member of the ICE or similar

  • Additional Project Management or Lean Qualifications would be beneficial but not essential
