We are actively seeking a talented Civil Engineer for immediate employment in our Atlanta, GA office.

The responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Computer ­aided design and drafting of site layout, roadway, grading, and utility systems using tools including, but not limited to AutoCAD Civil3D.

  • Assists in report preparation, site reconnaissance, and communications with the AECOM project team.

  • Reviews regulations and standards necessary to carry out project design and permitting work

  • Analyze reports, maps, drawings, tests, and other topographical and geologic data to plan and design projects

  • Incorporates schedules, budgets and project criteria into civil design and layouts

  • Conduct site visits at active construction sites to examine field conditions, site work that is under construction, site utilities, sediment and erosion control inspections, as built conditions

  • Work closely with the project team, including civil, geotechnical, traffic engineers, and surveyors to provide value to each project

  • Work under supervision of Project Manager or Senior Civil Engineer

  • Exercise judgement limited to developing details of work in making preliminary decisions and material selections, and adaptations of engineering alternatives

  • Utilize standard techniques, procedures, and criteria while gaining understanding of advanced methods

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related engineering field

  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, including:

  • Objects – Styles & Labels;

  • Designing Surfaces (3D Feature Lines & Grading Groups);

  • Working with Pipe Networks (Alignments & Profiles);

  • Corridor Design (Assemblies & Subassemblies);

  • Working with Data Shortcuts;

  • Working with Plan Production Tools

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • At least 6 years of experience in design and construction administration of site utilities including water, sanitary sewer and storm drainage.

  • Registered Professional Engineer

  • Strong organizational, technical, and communications skills

  • Commitment to working efficiently to complete tasks within allotted schedule constraints

  • Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working on commercial and/or industrial sites with multiple utilities including domestic water supply and distribution, fire water, gravity sanitary sewer, pressure sanitary forcemains, process wastewater, fiber and telecommunications, storm drainage piping and detention system design.

  • Experience working on highly complex data center projects in the high tech market a plus.

  • Coordination with multiple disciplines including architects, mechanical and electrical engineers, structural engineers, and contractors.
