Sr. Electrical Engineer

KBR is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team in Midwest City, Oklahoma. In this role you will play an integral part in developing U.S. missile defense and aviation platforms and systems for our increasingly complex world. Use your expertise including everything from development and testing to sustainment and modernization to real-world simulations and threat assessments. For more than 40 years, we have increased the effectiveness and operational capabilities for almost everything that flies or that defends our skies, including UAVs, fast jets, rockets, missiles and more.

As member of this team you will responsible for study, design, specification and services related to electrical and electronic systems including power generation, transmission and distribution, power systems performance and control, cabling and wiring, lighting, motor control centers, communications systems, cathodic protection, grounding lightning protection, heat tracing etc. Under general supervision, performs all conventional aspects of the functional area subject matter. Devises new approaches to problems encountered. Plans, schedules, and conducts work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria. Performs work which involves conventional engineering practice but may include a variety of complex features such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, and difficult coordination requirements. Provides technical guidance to designers and less experienced engineers. Job tasks, correctly performed, impact indirectly on cost containment, efficiency, profitability or operations.

Skills are typically acquired through an undergraduate degree in Engineering and a minimum of 4 years related experience, with average experience ranging from 6-10 years. Requires sufficient professional experience to assure competence as a fully trained professional. Work requires a broad knowledge of precedents. Also may be responsible for leadership of a functional area on a small project or a segment of a larger project. As the lead, plans, budgets, organizes, coordinates and controls the project and is responsible for employee performance appraisals and for coaching and developing lower level professionals. Certification as a Licensed/Chartered Professional Engineer is preferred.

This position requires a Bachelors in Electrical Engineering or related field with a minimum of four (4) years of general electrical engineering or a Masters in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of two (2) years electrical engineering experience. The candidate must have good oral and written communication skills. The candidate must have the ability to obtain a security clearance.

Aerospace or ATCALS experience are definite pluses. The ideal candidate will have experience with circuit design, signal/power analysis, instrumentation, EMI/radar and programming skills. Skills in SolidWorks Electrical and NI Circuit Design Pro are also preferred.
