NAVY SPECIALIST (STRUCTURAL/SHIPFITTER)The Prepositioning and Marine Corps Logistics Services (P&MCLS) program is based in Jacksonville, Florida. We provide maintenance and logistics services to the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) and U.S. Navy. We are seeking a NAVY SPECIALIST (STRUCTURAL/SHIPFITTER) for our Jacksonville, Florida location. Job Description: Participates in assuring the operational readiness of equipment in the area of structural repairs (shipfitting) and related subcontract management procedures. Conducts routine tours of subcontractor facilities to monitor and evaluate contractor work progress, to assess technical compliance, and provide recommendations. Conducts review of subcontractors production plans, schedules, controls, and industrial processes and performance. Utilizes technical publications and drawings in support of structural repair of U.S. Navy watercraft and associated equipment. Plans and performs the successive steps and initiatives in assessing information and identifying, resolving or alerting management to potential problems. Reviews completed work for technical adequacy, conformance to objectives and compatibility with other work products. Possess working knowledge of the instruments, test equipment, tools and reports to diagnose and assess methods of production to ensure contract conformance to contract specifications and NAVSEA Standard Items. Performs root-cause analysis for monitoring and evaluating trends. Provides activity and status reports to management. Complies with ISO-9001/14001 policies and procedures. Performs joint performance reviews with, and maintains professional association with Navy Technical/Quality Assurance representatives. Responsibilities: · Schedule and quality reviews of contractor repairs on U.S. Navy watercraft and equipment, metrics reporting and assistance with technical procedures development. · Competent person atmospheric testing to ensure confined spaces on Navy watercraft are safe for personnel entry. · Develop, review and maintain subcontract technical documents, performance assessments and check points, and pother records for watercraft and associated equipment. · Advise in the development of repair procedures and techniques where technical knowledge and standards is a consideration. · Reduce unnecessary or unexpected duplication in processes by evaluating methods. · Investigate abnormal consumption of materials and recommend corrective measures. · Prepare, revise, and review purchase description standards and specifications. · Review, analyze and evaluate deficiency and failure reports. · Review performance against standards and historical data. · Performs all other duties related to many different and unrelated processes or methods including preproduction, production, usage, or disposal.
