AECOM is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join the AECOM team in Chantilly, VA.
Perform diversified duties within assigned segment of accounting, working in accordance with established procedures and general supervision. Duties involve knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, Deltek Costpoint and Cognos. This job has the potential to grow into a financial analyst role, over time, for the right candidate!
Own AP and Purchase Order matching process for assigned programs including the receipt, review and processing of invoices for completeness and accuracy.
Interface with vendors, AECOM AP, Operations and Procurement colleagues at other office locations to troubleshoot issues and track to resolution.
Assist with monthly closing activities including, but not limited to, preparation of journal entries and running reports.
Perform financial analysis and proactively communicate findings to business managers.
Prepare Client Billings and associated back up, as necessary.
Maintain Accounts Receivable / aging tracking database and track invoices and payments
Perform other duties, as assigned.
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
High School diploma with commercial/government contracting background and at least 3 years of job related experience or equivalent.
Good oral and written communication skills; working knowledge of all Microsoft Office products; strong organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work autonomously are required.
Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.
Must be US Citizen.
Experience using CostPoint
Experience working with Cash and Purchase Orders.
