AECOM is currently seeking a Digital Consultant to be based in our Swindon/Birmingham office. Our Industrial Advisory team is expanding their digital capabilities to enhance our offering to clients and better prepare them for the future. The Digital Consultant will bring a strong understanding of digital technologies and how they can be deployed to deliver value to our clients.
Working alongside process optimisation specialists with simulation, manufacturing and controls engineering expertise you will develop digital solutions to meet clients needs.
You will be confident in a client facing role, able to communicate with clients at all levels of their business to understand client challenges and find right-sized solutions to meet their needs.
You will be able to collaborate with both internal and client teams to develop and implement digital solutions to client problems.
You will be able to explore current and evolving digital platforms and guide our clients to embrace them in order to optimise their processes and operations.
You will be open-minded in applying your knowledge and experience to tackle problems in a diverse array of sectors and environments.
You will use your digital capabilities to coach, guide and upskill other members of Industrial Advisory to increase the level of knowledge across the team, enhancing capabilities and enabling more opportunities to be identified
We are particularly keen on hearing from applicants that have knowledge and skills in one or more of the following areas:
IT / Digital strategy – understanding of how technology can support or drive organisational or industry level change. Able to analyse and articulate how technology can create business value and competitive advantage.
Information systems & architecture – ability to examine the role and effectiveness of information systems in delivering business processes and goals. Technical ability to examine the integration between systems in creating value.
Data & information – understanding of data and information management principles, including organisation, storage, dissemination and security considerations, together with the ability to identify opportunities to leverage data and information.
Human factors – understanding of organisational change, and the ability to identify change impacts of technology on people and processes.
IT project management – ability to manage IT projects through structured and recognised principles over their full lifecycle; this includes the development of a business case, planning and managing the delivery of project activities, resource, scope and risk management.
A high level of working knowledge of digital technologies and applications including simulation, digital twins, data analytics and dashboard/GUI development.
Work experience within a similar consultancy or other relevant business.
