Carpenter Report to and receive assignments and instructions from Foreman or Facility Supervisor. Reads and interprets instructions and documentation and plans work activities. Knowledge of residential and commercial construction along with remodeling trades, practices, procedures, techniques, tools, equipment, materials, quality control and cost control. Proficient at the following tasks: Locksmith, drill and set door hardware, drawer locks, t rim work and chain link fencing. Moves materials and equipment to work locations and sets up work site. Builds and repairs a broad range of structures in support of maintenance activities. Performs facility and structure inspections in need of repair; assist in filling out requisitions for materials and supplies Completes records, maintains equipment, and performs various clean-up and housekeeping activities. Observes and follows all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment. Perform other duties and activities as directed. Typically requires 2-4 years of related experience Preferred: - Maximum 1-year since last employment in regards to Carpentry work - Form setting and concrete work a plus and preferred - Repair and renovation type work a plus and preferred - Open willingness to assist other trades and departments when necessary - Must be able to operate a vehicle with standard shift / manual transmission - Mathematical and analytical skills to do material takeoffs/estimates a plus Additional requirements: - Must be fluent in English - Must possess passport book (notpassport card) with at least 15 months of remaining validity AND with at least 6 blank visa/stamp pages remaining - Must possess driver’s license with at least 6 months of remaining validity
