AECOM is actively hiring a Senior Transportation Planning/NEPA Project Manager. The qualified candidate will have responsibilities include leading and working on various transportation and transit projects for AECOM North Carolina clients.
Provides overall management of IE-related planning issues.
Advises the Planning Director on all planning-related matters.
Advises various councils, boards, commissions, and elected officials in planning related issues
Evaluates operations and activities of assigned responsibilities.
Prepares reports on operations and activities, recommending improvements and modifications.
Develops and evaluates plans and criteria for a variety of projects and activities to be carried out by others.
Assesses the feasibility and soundness of proposed planning products.
Usually performs as a staff advisor and consultant as to a technical specialty, a type of facility, industry, equipment or program function.
Monitors and ensures compliance with local, state and federal laws.
BA/BS Undergraduate in engineering or planning with studies in civil engineering, transportation planning, environmental planning or related field
Minimum of 6 plus years' experience in planning and or planning-related field
Experience in project management and transportation engineering and planning task management, coordination and/or and oversight.
Preparation of and usage of project management tools such as scopes of service, budgets and schedules.
Proven professional verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
Successful management of at least one Environmental Impact Statements and/or Multiple Environmental Assessments/Categorical Exclusions compliant with the National Environmental Policy Act NEPA
Excellent understanding of Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) NEPA compliance and procedures as administered by NC Department of Transportation
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite including MS Project, MSWord, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as MicroStation, and GIS
Graduate degree in engineering or planning with studies in civil engineering, transportation planning, environmental planning or related field
Must have one or more of the following certifications: Professional Engineer (PE), American Institute of Certified Planners (ACP), Certified Environmental Professional (CEP)
