Job Description and Tasks:
The Navigation Subsystems Engineering Fellow will be representing the RF and Navigation Subsystems Department in providing solutions to difficult GPS/IMU hardware issues associated with specific programs/projects
The Navigation Subsystems Engineering Fellow shall demonstrate understanding and wide application of technical theories and concepts in the area of navigation subsystems/components used in modern guidance electronics platforms
The Navigation Subsystems Engineering Fellow will interface directly with suppliers of navigation or guidance electronics components to monitor and manage programmatic activities and ensure compliance to requirements
The Navigation Subsystems Engineering Fellow will be expected to work broad assignments independently within a program Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment across multiple programs/projects
The Navigation Subsystems Engineering Fellow will be required to effectively communicate, written and orally, and will regularly provide status of issues, progress and accomplishments to leadership and customers
The Navigation Subsystems Engineering Fellow will be expected to work on diverse projects providing support throughout the system lifecycle including system architecture, requirement definition, trade studies, testing, data analysis, verification, integration and production
Good written and oral communication skills and the ability to function in a team environment are required. Some degree of travel will be expected

Required Skills & Education:
A minimum of 12 years of navigation subsystem design, analysis, and manufacturing experience on IMU and GPS assemblies and subassemblies
Demonstrated experience with IMU/GPS systems and their operational aspects and failure modes within an integrated navigation subsystem
Demonstrated experience with MATLAB, STK, GIANT or equivalent design and analysis tools
Demonstrated ability to lead navigation subsystem design teams spanning IMU, GPS, Antennas, thermal and dynamics management, structural analysis, system modeling, requirements derivation, GNC impact, etc.
Demonstrated experience leading navigation subsystem design trade studies and engineering efforts involving engineers across multiple disciplines
Demonstrated ability to successfully lead teams
Demonstrated ability to influence others to achieve technical and programmatic goals
Demonstrated proactive problem solving experience
Demonstrated ability to develop a business strategic vision and execute changes
Demonstrated ability to write successful technical proposal volumes
Demonstrated written and verbal communication ability to leadership
B.S Degree (STEM)
MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering or other related engineering field
Patents, Papers and Publications in related technical field
National recognition in industry
Strong interpersonal skills working in a team environment with positive interaction
Recent technical experience relative to integrated Guidance Electronics systems using GPS and IMU navigation subsystems blended via Kalman filter techniques
Experience with hardware integration, Hardware in the Loop (HIL), vibration tables and simulators
Experience with Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and electronics test equipment
Recent program management experience in an engineering development or production environment
Experience with GPS Directorate processes and/or GPS ICDs
Experience with MEMS IMU technology
Broad knowledge of tactical missiles systems to understand system level requirements allocation and dependencies, as well as conduct trades studies at the test systems level
Broad experience in Guidance, Navigation and Control engineering, including academic and/or professional experience in system modeling and analysis, hardware design, or integration, test and verification.
Demonstrated ability to put forth and drive technical execution plans
Integration experience with missile systems or ship/airborne platforms
Understanding of complex threat environments and battlefields
Experience and knowledge of advanced electronic attack methods and simulation
Experience with assessing program level risks to performance objectives and developing mitigation activities
Experience in integration with test equipment, telemetry data analysis tools, or radar systems and host platforms
