CORROSION CONTROL MANAGER

The Marine Corps' Prepositioning (MCPP) Program is based on Blount Island in Jacksonville, Florida. We provide maintenance and logistics services to the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) and U.S. Navy.

We are seeking a Corrosion Control Manager.

We are seeking a passionate leader to provide direction and oversite on the prevention, inspection and treatment of corrosion on Navy and USMC platforms and systems. The Corrosion Control Manager will serve as the subject matter expert for corrosion control and must have technical excellence in both the theory and practice of corrosion control techniques. The successful candidate must have the ability to oversee and provide instruction/training on-equipment proficiency. Must have knowledge of the methods of prevention, inspection and treatment of corrosion and advise on supply support problems. Must have the ability to assist with the identification of and use of special tools, handling and test equipment associated with corrosion control. Provide corrosion control guidance to operations and maintenance personnel in regards to failure data and material deficiency reports. Recommend changes to corrosion control technical manuals for use by the Government in preparing Technical Publications Deficiency Reports. The Corrosion Control Manager will manage corrosion control technicians and work with military and government personnel and provide technical excellence in the area of corrosion analysis and control techniques.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise program corrosion control program in order to achieve production goals within budget and assigned resources.
  • Develop/execute production schedule, review progress, direct changes in priorities and schedule as to ensure work is completed in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Responsible for the selection, performance management, training and disciplinary matters of the corrosion control staff.
  • Demonstrate a high regard for safety
  • Additional Notes: This position may require travel to sites
  • Qualifications: Education/Experience:
  • A Minimum of 8 years professional experience in corrosion control or a combination of experience and training that may include Navy A and/or C schools or service equivalent schools or Accredited Vocational Education Institutions- OEM/Factory technical training programs related to corrosion control.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience with various corrosion control electrical equipment, including technical experience with motors, controllers, and lighting.
  • Must have be able to obtain/maintain CAC card and base access.
