Job Summary

The Transportation Division of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Highway/Bridge Senior Project Manager for immediate employment in the Los Angeles, CA office. This position will require frequent interaction and collaboration with counterparts locally and in other regions to pursue, win, and successfully manage and execute work for AECOM. The candidate may serve as a Client Account Manager (CAM) and support/collaborate with the other CAM’s in the Highway/Bridge market.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Management of the development and execution of project(s) scope, schedule and budget.

  • Responsible for providing leadership and strategic guidance to the highway/bridge sub-business line.

  • Preparation of project updates, presentations, recommendations and other project plans.

  • Review and development of progress and status reports.

  • Ability to effectively lead the Highway/Bridge design teams.

  • Contribution to the growth of the AECOM Highway/Bridge practice in southern California

  • Track transportation projects and pre-position for upcoming projects, act as Capture Manager on project pursuits, play an active role in the preparation of selected SOQs/RFPs and lead project teams during interviews.

  • Win new work in the southern California highway/bridge planning and design market.

  • Maintain client satisfaction on assigned projects.

  • Assist in developing staff.

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS plus 10 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and / or education.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.

  • Master’s degree in Engineering or Business Administration.

  • 15+ years of experience in managing highway/bridge design projects.

  • Professional Engineers (PE) civil license (ability to obtain California PE within 6 months)

  • Experience in managing highway/bridgework scope, budgets and schedules.

  • Experience managing projects located on Caltrans’ facilities.

  • Strong technical and project coordination skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong negotiation skills.

  • Ability to build relationships with local transportation agency personnel.

  • Ability to achieve and maintain good client relations with assigned clients.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with transportation agency staff throughout Southern California.
