Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Entry Level Natural Resources Scientist/GIS Specialist for employment in the Chelmsford, MAoffice. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Utilizes basic scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope.

  • Collects and enters data, and applies technical principles and theories.

  • Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance.

  • Entry-level position; may not require previous experience.

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS + None or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Environmental Science, Soil Science or related discipline

  • Educational and internship background should include experience in wetland identification and understanding, ecology, marine science, wildlife biology and/or general environmental science

  • Background and proficiency with GIS systems for map making with natural resources overlays highly desired

  • Ability to work in the field supporting wetlands delineation, natural resource surveys, wildlife surveys and tracking and general environmental sampling

  • Strong writing skills and reporting and research

  • Ability to work overtime

  • Strong communication skills, maturity and teamwork required

  • OSHA 40 HAZWOPER training certification
