Job Description:

The Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) Division of the Tactical Communications Systems Department within the Space and Airborne Systems Center is the primary design center, logistics and field support for the IFF products for military and civilian applications. Systems engineering and support is based at Aberdeen Proving Grounds Maryland. The position tasks include:
• Oversee technical performance and certification
• Support logistics and customer training
• Participate in requirements development
• Participate in development of system-level architectures
• Evaluate proposed solutions from internal and external suppliers
• Interface with various customers to address system operations, design concepts, and performance in order to ensure the mission effectiveness meets customer expectations for- both new and existing capabilities
• Participate in planning and oversight of system integration, verification, and validation (IV&V)
• Participate in Earned Value management for assigned efforts
• Travel required is 50 percent
• On Site and customer site support required
• Platform Integration, product certification support
• Field Upgrade support and customer depot support

Required Skills:
• Minimum 4 years of Engineering experience
or equivalent military experience.
• Knowledge of testing and military support processes
• Familiarity with legacy military logistics and support
• U.S. Citizenship status required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date
• U.S. Citizenship status required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems


Desired Skills:
Prior working knowledge of communication products, technologies, and processes

• Prior working knowledge of military air and ground platforms
• Prior engineering experience with integration of systems into platforms
• Prior engineering experience with transition and support from development to manufacturing
• Experience in dealing with government customers, management and technical staff
• Prior experience working in Integrated Product Teams

Required Education:

B.S. in Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science, or Mechanical engineering, or related discipline.
