Job Summary
The Buildings and Places Division of AECOM is actively seeking an energetic, self-motivated, highly collaborative Interior Designer Intern to join its Arlington, Virginia Studio. The candidate will participate on project teams through the planning, design, and execution of projects and will work with senior architects, technical coordinators, discipline leaders and project managers to develop creative solutions to a myriad of challenging project types.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Implementation of the design and production of all phases of a project including schematic design, design development, construction documents, and construction administration.
Assist in preparation of interior designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings and working drawings
Occasional field work may be required to gather building measurements and other data in order to create interior design plans and specifications
Assist senior-level designers with development of design solutions, perform site surveys, and maintain resource materials
Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member
Minimum Requirements
Currently in pursuit of Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture or other related field required
Candidates should possess some working knowledge in design and production of all phases of project delivery including schematic design, design development, construction documents, and construction administration.
Must display outstanding design and graphic skills.
Strong communication, planning and collaboration skills, and be comfortable working both independently and in a team environment on a variety of projects and tasks
Proficient in a wide variety of production and visualization software including but not limited to: AutoCAD, Revit, Sketch-Up, VRay or other visualization software, Adobe Suite, InDesign and Microsoft Office products.
