Job Summary
Drive various types of trucks, such as Tractor Trailer combinations to transport various loads, which may include Hazardous Materials.
Essential Responsibilities:
Must have the ability to operate various types of heavy equipment and forklifts and to load and unload cargo.
Check vehicles and equipment for correct operation and must be knowledgeable of cargo securement rules to ensure that every load is properly secured before transport.
Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on trucks and trailers and refuel vehicles as required. Perform general housekeeping and grounds maintenance of vehicle parking areas.
Travel as required by company.
Other related duties as assigned by the Lead Technician.
Focus on SAFETY.
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent and 5 years’ experience transporting heavy loads on multiple types of trailers, along with a safe driving record and history. Load and unload trailers with straps, chains and hooks, perform vehicle inspections, safely climb in and out of tractor cab, maintain vehicle logs, prompt daily attendance & forklift experience preferred. Valid Class “A” CDL Driver’s license with Hazmat endorsement. Qualify for and maintain a Secret security clearance.
