In partnership with the Americas Corporate Business Line Leader, AECOM is seeking a visionary and dynamic leader for our West Region Corporate Practice, based in our Los Angeles or San Francisco office. The Regional and National Corporate Practice includes Interiors, Architecture, Engineering, Planning & Economics, and Consulting. The candidate’s primary responsibility is to lead and grow an integrated multi-disciplinary Corporate Practice with a focus on Innovation, Design Excellence and Thought Leadership while positioning AECOM in the delivery of Corporate Projects.
We are seeking an individual who is an industry-recognized leader in the Corporate Community in the West Region, has strong client relationships, and an established client and industry network. The ideal candidate understands and has proven track record in driving business fundamentals that include client leadership, business development, financial oversight, design quality, project delivery, and the ability to convey innovative design thinking and solutions.
Responsible for developing and executing the Corporate strategic growth plan for their region, including developing and executing client outreach goals.
Advocates design excellence and quality – leads the regional Corporate strategy in assuring that we are building client relationships, strategically pre-positioning, winning, and delivering the most important Corporate work in the region.
Together with regional business line management committee, builds high performance Corporate design teams – soliciting and managing client feedback to align operations and allocate resources according to strategic priorities, recognizes and unleashes the potential of others by providing the needed environment, resources, coaching, experiences and other support, champions an innovative and collaborative culture.
Champions change – makes the AECOM Corporate vision understandable, creates buy-in to the vision by linking day-to-day work to the attainment of the vision, engages and mobilizes others to drive change, reduces organizational ambiguity.
Illustrates a keen understanding of market trends and client expectations in Corporate sector, including those related to Campus master planning, corporate office buildings, tenant finish out, inclusive or architecture and engineering.
Registered Architect, Engineer, Interior Designer or Planner with 20+ years of experience
Professional design degree in Architecture (or applicable field) required
Deep knowledge of the regional Corporate marketplace, with National and Global reach, key clients, and industry trends is paramount
Experience and skill in strategic business development, client relationships and driving sales and revenue
The ability to support and lead Corporate business development activities through early client interaction, “scope of work” development, interviews, and on-going client maintenance interface
Acting as principal-in-charge of a large/multi-disciplined Corporate project /consultant team
Together with regional Managing Principal, Principal-In-Charge and Project Directors, established project scopes, work plans and work schedules.
Successfully delivered Corporate projects within the clients’ budget / schedule requirements
Successfully delivered project scope and fee, delivering targeted profit to the firm interfaced with project managers on schedules, project review meetings, issues management and client expectations
An ability to travel and/or work remotely with teams
A strong desire to train, mentor and develop staff to grow their careers and the business
Direct design and planning leadership experience in the Corporate sector
10 years leading teams for large Corporations
10+ years in the geographic marketplace
