We are currently seeking a motivated, career and customer oriented VMware Horizon Engineer to join our team to begin an exciting and challenging career with Unisys Federal Systems.

Location - Pentagon - Arlington, Virginia

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • The VMware Horizon Engineer is responsible for troubleshooting for all technical matters related to VMware Horizon 7.x.
  • The successful candidate will also be responsible for installing, configuring, and administrating large, complex Horizon VDI environments.
  • The VMware Horizon Engineer is also responsible for working with Profile Unity on the Horizon VDI environment, as well as performing other duties as assigned.
  • At least five (5) years of hands-on VMware experience.
  • Hands-on subject matter expertise troubleshooting VMware Horizon 7.x technical matters.
  • Hands-on experience installing, configuring, and administrating large complex VMware environments.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the VDI image build process and management.
  • Ability to analyze logs, track and resolve complex using tools including vROPs, Teradici, Stratosphere, and others.
  • Hands-on experience with Profile Unity on the Horizon VDI environment.
  • Familiarity with scripting and automation to streamline operations.
  • Hands-on vSphere and vCenter expertise
    -Familiarity with thin/zero clients.
  • Provision of onsite support to unclassified and classified environments


  • Knowledge of networking, including VLAN, switching, and VDI ports and protocols.
  • Ability to multitask multiple projects and prioritize work to support mission and customer requirements.
  • Ability and willingness to collaborate with networking, storage, server operations, and security teams.
  • Hands-on experience with Nutanix hyper-converged platforms.
  • Understanding of Windows Active Directory, SCCM, and GPOs.
  • Hands-on experience with vSphere and vCenter consolidation and upgrades

Education / Certification / Security Clearance Requirement:

  • Bachelor's degree and 8 years experience or equivalent.
  • DoD 8140 active cyber certification at IAT Level II (CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, SSCP) or better.
  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance
