Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Senior Engineer for immediate employment in the Orlando or Tampa, FL office.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for business development and marketing of clients in the North Florida area, from the Panhandle to the Orlando/Tampa area

  • Strong technical leader able to mentor staff in effective technical approaches while furthering business development

  • Serve as a Senior Project Manager on his/her own project

  • Act as mentor to junior and subordinate staff

  • Provide Senior QA/QC support for projects as appropriate for his/her technical background

  • Assist in developing and executing the strategic direction of the Florida Environment Business Line to help ensure financial profitability and growth

  • Participates and drives sales process in order to meet identified business growth and profit objectives (outside of existing clients)

  • Writing of proposals responding to client needs

Minimum Requirements

BA/BS + 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering or related Engineering Discipline

  • 10+ years of experience in the environmental consulting industry

  • Registered Professional Engineer

  • Demonstrated experience in successfully managing projects

  • Proven experience in client development for new and expansion of existing clients within the local region and success leading, winning and managing new work

  • Demonstrated experience in planning, management, and evaluation of various environmental projects including but not limited to assessments, remediation, water resources, audits, permitting, compliance, and impact studies

  • Knowledge of Florida Department of Environmental Protection regulations and EPA regulatory programs and guidelines in Southeastern U.S.

  • History of working with diverse, integrated environmental business development/project delivery teams

  • Fluent in MS Office/Project and financial management software

  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities

  • Demonstrated ability to work multiple opportunities simultaneously

  • Strong organizational and project management skills including: supervisory experience, planning, staffing, budget management, schedule maintenance, quality control, safety, and coordination of subcontractors and internal support staff

  • Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required
