Overview
Frontier Technology, Inc. (FTI) is seeking a full-time Systems Engineer with specialized experience in Training Systems to join our team of qualified, talented, and diverse individuals. This position requires a TS/SCI. Primary work location is in Colorado Springs, CO in support of a customer based at Los Angeles Air Force Base, CA.
Responsibilities
The ideal candidate for this position is expected to provide systems engineering support for the Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC) Directorate of Special Programs (SMC/DirSP). The candidate will work to ensure that all systems engineering and training systems requirements and FTI tools supporting SMC/DirSP are installed, configured, and maintained as required per applicable directives and instructions.
Serves on the SMC/DirSP FTI team of Systems Engineers directly supporting all systems engineering responsibilities as identified by the SMC/DirSP staff.
Works with all SMC/DirSP divisions to support SMC/DirSP level engineering tasking to support an integrated SMC Systems Engineering approach.
Complete SMC/DirSP Training Systems Requirements Analysis (TSRA) functions as directed by SMC/DirSP leadership.
Install new hardware, systems and software for networks as required.
Investigate and assess FTI SBIR-developed tools for their possible use by SMC/DirSP
Complete SMC/DirSP Training Systems Requirements Analysis (TSRA) functions and report as directed by SMC/DirSP leadership across the DirSP portfolio.
Interface with SMC/DirSP and other AFSPC MAJCOM personnel as required to complete the TSRA tasking and activities.
Support testing of integrations between FTI software solutions.
Work closely with colleagues to meet all technical and functional requirements.
Review technical specifications, design plans, project criteria, and the team work for compliance to articulated standards while ensuring data integrity and validity.
Education/Qualifications
Must have Current TS/SCI clearance and the ability to maintain TS/SCI and SAP/SAR government security clearances.
Bachelor of Science degree in Systems and/or Software Engineering, MS in Systems and/or Software Engineering desired.
5-10 years actively working as System Engineer
Experience with AF SMC Space Training Systems and or AF Space Systems trainers, requirements gathering and analysis.
Prior experience in SMC/DirSP Programs highly desired.
Familiarity with conducting Business Case Analyses for space systems
Experience developing and executing test and evaluation process
Familiarity with software configuration management processes to include source control management.
Ability to develop system architecture diagrams in MS Visio
Familiarity with MS Excel and other MS Office tools
Familiarity with MS Excel and other MS Office tools
Ability to work with cross functional team (i.e. project manager, logisticians, engineers, program analyst)
Ability to work independently with geographically dispersed team
Strong written and oral communication skills
Basic understanding of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) is a plus
Basic understanding of the Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DODAF) and experience in developing DODAF Architecture Views (OV-1, SV-1, etc.)
Must be willing to travel 25-35%
