P-8A Test Pilot

Joining KBR you will be a part of the world’s largest independent flight test organization supporting both US Government and commercial agencies, you will be joining a highly talented and experienced KBR aircrew services team that has provided over 40 continuous years of Test Pilot support for NAVAIR Test Squadrons. As a long term incumbent and leader in test aircrew support, the selected applicant will work within a test squadron environment composed of government, military, contractor and industry personnel while supporting flight test. Job Description

This position supports tasking at the P-8A Integrated Test Team at the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) in Patuxent River, MD. The successful candidate will actively participate in P-8A developmental flight testing as an engineering test pilot. Candidate will be required to perform a variety of tasks that support flight testing including participation in technical meetings, analysis of test requirements, test plan preparation, drafting detailed test procedures, conducting or supervising data collection in flight simulators, aircraft ground and flight environments, report writing and development of written and oral presentations to support defense acquisition milestones. Most work will be conducted on-site at NAS Patuxent River, MD, however some travel will be required in support of flight test activities.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of 2 years of experience required. Graduate of a military test pilot school desired. Defense Acquisition University Test and Evaluation Level III desired.

Experience:

Current or former qualification as a Naval Aviator/Test Pilot or military equivalent required. A minimum of 1000 hours first pilot time in multi-engine turbine aircraft with FAA Commercial or ATP rating required. Current of former qualification as a P-8 or P-3 aircraft commander desired. A minimum of 2 years of developmental and/or operational test and evaluation of military aircraft is required with a thorough understanding of aircraft performance, flying qualities and mission systems test techniques. Experience as a NATOPS Program Evaluator desired.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Candidate must be able to organize and demonstrate effective oral and written communications, and operate in a dynamic and fast-paced team environment. Candidate must also be able to operate effectively at remote work sites without direct supervision. Candidate must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and similar computer-based productivity applications. Candidate must be able to pass the physical and training qualification requirements to provide contract aircrew support, including completion of Navy water survival and aviation physiology training, as well as annual FAA Class II flight physical.

Applicant selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
