Job Summary

AECOM has an opening for a­ Quality Control Inspector- Lead in Qatar.

Under the supervision of the Quality Manager, performs initial, in-progress and final inspections on various types of military, commercial, and other forms of Utilities and Special Purpose equipment, Power-Generation equipment, Quartermaster and Chemical equipment, and Construction equipment. Makes proper classification determinations as it pertains to U.S. Government property. Assists shops as needed with troubleshooting processes. Test and troubleshoot all forms of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) Systems. Conduct Actual Cost of Damages (ACOD), Estimated Cost of Damages (ECOD), Estimated Cost of Repairs (ECOR) and Estimated Cost of Fabrication (ECOF). Conduct Test on serviced, repair and repaired equipment to ensure operating efficiency before returning to customer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Use and interprets technical manuals, bulletins and written directives in the performance of all inspections.

  2. Uses proper Test Measurement and Diagnostics Equipment (TMDE) in the daily operations phase.

  3. Perform technical research and ensure operational readiness of assigned equipment.

  4. Must be able to interpret and become knowledgeable of Internal Operating Procedures (IOP) assists other QC Inspectors in the conduct of equipment technical inspections.

  5. Must be able of grasping and applying Army maintenance and supply concepts and procedures, as applicable to the maintenance areas.

  6. Must be capable of giving and receiving instructions to all of the work force in the Shops.

  7. Perform PDQR process when receiving improper or damaged repair parts.

  8. Knowledge of Product Quality Deficiency Report (PQDR), Safety of use messages (SOUM), Ground Precautionary Action (GPA), Maintenance Action Messages (MAM) and Modification Work Orders (MWO) programs.

Minimum Requirements

Education:

  • High school graduate or equivalent at a minimum.

  • Prior military experience or equivalent civilian experience as a mechanical inspector.

Experience:

  • Master Mechanic equivalent and strong technical background with past QC experience

  • Five years’ experience in the servicing, diagnosis and repair of automotive equipment, tactical tracked vehicles and/or wheeled vehicle and equipment at the organizational and/or DS level maintenance.

  • Five years’ experience on Quality Control Technical Inspections on US Army Equipment desirable and a plus.

  • Five years must have been working on military equipment on a military contract or serving in a military MOS that performed organizational or higher levels of maintenance repairs on a daily basis.

  • Must be a US Citizen and maintain Secret security clearance.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills

  • MS Office suite expertise is required as well as excellent oral, written and presentation skills.

  • Must possess the technical skills to identify different repair requirements as it pertains to Automotive Equipment.

Work Environment, Physical Demands and Mental Demands:

  • Ability to perform job duties efficiently and effectively during a 48 hour work week.

  • Must be able to lift 25 Lbs. continuously, 50 Lbs. intermittently.

  • Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions including dust and high temperatures.

  • Must be able to endure long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
