The Program and Construction Management Business Unit of AECOM is actively seeking an agile, highly talented Project Manager to lead teams for retail fuels projects across the United States. This person will provide technical and mentoring guidance for a group of project management professionals in a team setting taking each project from inception, through design, construction, and handover. The Project Manager will be working for retail fuel related projects including ground up new construction to include site work and underground fuel tank installations, renovation, and rebranding. This position is located in our Richmond, Virginia or Charleston, South Carolina office.
The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established civil engineering career in the industrial site development market.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to
Plans, schedules, conducts or coordinates detailed phases of projects
Regularly develops and evaluates project plans
Provides leadership, direction and technical guidance on projects
Assesses the feasibility and soundness of proposed project plans, drawings and specifications
Responsible for ensuring proper quality control procedures are implemented on all projects
Conducts peer reviews and assist in technical presentations as needed
Manage internal and external stakeholders
Review and approve vendor invoices
Assist in the procurement process
Budget and schedule management for individual projects and a portfolio of projects
Strict adherence to AECOM and Client safety protocols
Travel to sites and meetings across the assigned territories
Mange General Contractors and other Sub-consultants
Provide weekly updates on project performance; budget, schedule, 2-week look ahead, etc.
Liaise with Authorities and Utility providers as need to deliver projects as scheduled
Mentors Junior Staff
Manages one or more moderately complex project, involving a combination of the following:
Clients with a regional geographic footprint; OR,
Projects involving multiple services provided by regional IE offices; OR,
Other complexities, such as projects that involve litigation, environmental protection, due diligence, etc.
May manage all phases of projects (from beginning to close out).
Works mostly independently but receives basic instruction on specific assignments, objectives, complex features and possible solutions.
Receives technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and supervisory approval on proposed plans for projects.
May supervise: senior level engineers (all disciplines applicable), as well as project administration, project controls, scheduling, cost control, estimating and procurement representatives
Experience with retail fuels projects
PMP and/or CCM designation
