Integrated Defense Systems (IDS) Systems Engineering Validation, Test and Analysis Directorate (SVTAD) is the central focus for integration, test and validation activities. SVTAD employees provide the expertise to ensure customer success through the development and execution of innovative and comprehensive test, verification, and validation strategies, processes, tools and techniques. SVTAD employees are involved in all aspects of test including: design-for-test, integration, subsystem and component level testing through sell-off of IDS' most sophisticated systems and technologies.
An opportunity currently exist within SVTAD's Radar Systems Department for a Missile Defense Radar Mission Lead.
Missile Defense Radar Mission Lead
The Missile Defense Integration and Test Cross Product Team (MD I&T CPT) requires a Lead to provide technical and team oversight for all Missile Defense Radar Missions. These missions include flight tests, ground tests and SICOs for AN/TPY-2, SBX, UEWR and Cobra Dane Sensors. Flight test utilizes assets in their operational configuration against an inventory of targets to assess all aspects of BMDS performance in a variety of flight test regimes. Ground test utilizes string and operational site assets to test sensor upgrades as part of the material release process and/or in conjunction with flight test events. The MD Radar Mission lead is responsible for technical execution of all missions across platforms and contracts. The Radar Mission Lead is responsible for:
Required Skills: •10+ years of experience in an engineering to include programming in MATLAB, C/ C++, or other higher level program languages•Experience in radar systems test environments, and in development of test scripts and procedures•Experience in Radar test lab Environment maintenance and operation•Experience in development of analysis using simulation systems•Experience with some form of the Systems Engineering Product Development Cycle •Experience as a manager or in a leadership capacity•Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics or related technical disciplineDesired Skills: • Experience in development, analysis or test on radar systems, signal processing, electro-optical systems or components-Earned Value Management System (EVMS)•Experience with Command, Control & Communication (C3 Systems)•Testing in an AGILE environment•Working knowledge of Six Sigma and IPDS•Excellent communication, technical writing, oral presentation, and interpersonal skills•Ability to effectively execute tasks, resolve unexpected issues and meet challenging schedules in a research and development program environment •Ability to convey technical issues and provide status briefings to managers and key program stakeholders•Demonstrated ability to apply the engineering design process to discover innovative methods to solve technical problems and analyze large sets of system performance data•MS/MA in Engineering, Science, Mathematics or related technical discipline All these job responsibilities are to be executed in harmony with our Code of Business Ethics and Conduct policy which sets the standard by which we operate and how we treat others.This position requires either a U.S. Person or a Non-U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization. - Lead planning and movement of staffing and resources
- Develop training and growth plans for engineers
- Partner with the program leads on defining mission objective, schedule changes, etc
- Staff and prepare teams for mission deployment
- Allocate personnel across missions and contracts
- Ensure flawless mission execution

- Lead generation of pre & post-mission reports
