AECOM is actively seeking a Civil Engineer for employment in the DALLAS and Fort Worth offices. Under the responsible charge of a Professional Engineer:
Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.
Exercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives
Prepare engineering related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids
Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member
Applying knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices for assigned transportation design projects
Assisting a project manager or senior engineer with task production including preparing engineering related calculations, drawings, and visual aids
Assisting in maintaining project documentation
Producing high quality plans and effective in communicating the design concept to the contractor
Transportation design including but not limited to:
Geometric design of highways
Storm and Culvert Drainage design
Hydrologic & Hydraulic Studies
Erosion Control
Plan preparation
Cost estimating
Report writing
Traffic Engineering
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Transportation engineering
Minimum 2 years of experience in Transportation Engineering
Strong knowledge of MS Office including Excel, Word and standard office software
Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position such as, AutoCAD, MicroStation, HEC-RAS, Geopak, HY-8, HEC-HMS
Willingness to travel (if and when required)
Must possess a valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) preferred
Advanced knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position such as, MicroStation, HEC-RAS, GeoPak, HY-8
Experience with TxDOT Schematic and PS&E projects
