Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a talented Technical Project Coordinator for immediate employment for the San Diego Airport client site. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects.

This role will depend on the Technical Project Coordinator's ability to perform the following:

  • Conduct the Design Review process for all project related deliverables with stakeholders, including but not limited to organizing stakeholder engagement process, review comment process, page turn process and comment reconciliation process.

  • Organize weekly design reviews with stakeholders including but not limited to preparing presentations, meeting with designers and contractors and presenting it to stakeholders in collaboration with designers and contractors. Participate in project coordination and design review meetings to identify interfaces and coordination requirements.

  • Prepare project specific scopes of work for all consultants in collaboration with Authority staff.

  • Support manager in developing the Project budgets, cost estimates and project schedules.

  • Review all design and deliverables, bid packages, contract documents and design changes, submittals, and RFIs related to the trade package’s coordination and conformance to the project/ program requirements

  • Monitor design and construction progress against the project parameters

  • Address Operations and Maintenance issues in the design, including issues that may interfere with operations or maintainability of facilities and utilities.

  • Review design documents for compliance with Airport Authority’s A&E Requirements, guidelines and standards.

  • Compile and maintain project records and documents including for coordination with other departments and agencies.

  • Assist in preparation of project data and information for Authority management and external governmental communication

  • Review and monitor to ensure RFIs, submittals, and field changes are addressed in a timely manner.

  • Assist in compiling the bid packages, bid review and award recommendation of work authorization packages/GMP

  • Attend pre-bid conferences, bid openings, pre-construction, safety, and construction progress meetings.

  • Provide support in preparation and distribution of meeting announcements and meeting notes

  • Support manager in the project close-out and in case of needed warranty work

  • Contribute to the advancement of ADC’s goals through commitment to productive collaboration with all stakeholders.

  • Minimum two years of experience in designing or managing Airport Terminal projects and tenant improvement projects

  • Understanding of MEP, IT, Communications, F&LS, and Security Systems

  • Effective, team-oriented communication and leadership style

  • Self-starter, comfortable with taking initiative

  • Excellent written and oral skills including ability to communicate complex issues to a non-technical audience

  • Ability to take on additional tasks as the project requires

  • Familiarity with CADD and BIM programs as necessary

  • Required: Microsoft (MS) Suite software: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project.

  • Desirable: Project Management software such as PM Web or equivalent

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor of Architecture and/or Engineering

  • Minimum 8-12 years of experience in design or management of large, complex building projects required

Preferred Qualifications

Past involvement with large scale aviation/airport/terminal projects is preferred.
