We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Cost Controller to join our Adelaide team and contribute to major projects in our infrastructure business. Due to recent project wins the Project Controls team are looking for a motivated individual with relevant industry experience in cost control to make a positive contribution to current and future projects.

Reporting to the Project Controls Lead, this is a great opportunity to work on some of the nation’s most significant projects and build a solid foundation for continues career development.

Role Responsibilities

  • Establish and leverage cross-discipline relationships within the business group to facilitate cost control
  • Provide and apply cost control techniques and analysis to Engineering Services projects
  • Provide input to bid proposals, prepare estimates as required and allocate budget to committed funds
  • Recommending improvements to processes through utilization of experience and problem-solving skills
  • Implement and execute project controls techniques to proactively support, monitor, and communicate budget, actual status, and forecast costs, labor hours, and quantities for projects
  • Review and understand the project contract. Help identify risk areas and recommend mitigation plans. Develop and administer project controls that support contract requirements
  • Manage project budget. Work with project management and other members of the project team to maintain budget

Qualifications & Experience

  • Relevant degree in Business, Engineering or considerable experience
  • 5 + years’ experience in Cost Control
  • Detailed knowledge of industry best practices in project controls, including estimating, cost control and planning/scheduling, for Engineering Services type projects
  • Demonstrated experience with Earned Value Management
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience using SAP will be highly desirable
