Senior Urban Designer - Military veterans preferred

Job Summary

• Responsible for initiating and developing engineering drawings through completion for assigned projects in conformance with the requirements, applicable codes, and design criteria established by the project’s discipline engineers.

• Under direct supervision, may complete design assignments of limited to moderate complexity.

• Limited familiarity with codes, permits, and software applications related to the discipline.

• Introduced to the process of preparing designs and drawings using project specifications and discipline-associated written and verbal instructions in accordance with established design practices, standards and procedures.

• Basic to intermediate understanding of the purpose and use of vendor documents.

• Introduced to the process of performing material take-offs for the discipline.

Minimum Requirements

• 5+ years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience

• Design and graphic visualization ability

• Strong urban planning theory ability

• Strong analytical skills

• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Microsoft Office, ArcGIS

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Urban Planning, Urban Design, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, or similar field and 5+ years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience/education
