Trace Systems is seeking an innovative and highly driven Field Network Administrator to join our growing team in Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii. This role will be a part of a dynamic, multi-disciplined team, creating network infrastructure design and providing multi-enclave Coalition connectivity to our customer. The Field Network Administrator will provide direct support to our customers mission operations with a dynamic set of responsibilities designed to ensure satisfaction of approved customer requirements while creating a challenging role to drive professional growth.
This role requires experience in network engineering and the applicant should have some experience with DOD/Military/Agency architectures and networks. Where applicable, the job may require troubleshooting problems; coordinating activities of LAN support personnel, provide guidance on common networking issues; assessing vendor products; managing network performance, and maintaining network security.
Support USINDOPACOM MP requirements to include operations, program support, engineering, and cybersecurity
Manage usage and performance of voice, video and/or data communications networks
Maintain network security and ensures compliance with security policies and procedures
Evaluate hardware and software, including peripheral, output, and related equipment
Participate in developing and implementing network-related procedures and standards
Participate in and may lead aspects of major network installations and upgrades
Interface with vendors to ensure appropriate resolution during network outages or periods of reduced performance
Develop and implement testing strategies and document results
Provide advice and training to end-users
Troubleshoot and resolve complex problems
Maintain current knowledge of relevant hardware and software applications as assigned
Participate in special projects as required
Manage the functionality and efficiency of a group of computers running on one or more operating systems
Maintain integrity and security of network devices and systems
Set up administrator and service accounts
Maintain system documentation
Interact with users and evaluate vendor products
Patch and update network device operating systems to Department of Defense guidelines
Troubleshoot and resolve issues with Cisco IOS and NxOS based network devices
Develop scripts and tools to automate and improve user support activities
Monitor overall network health and troubleshoots reported events
Understanding of IAVAs and STIGs and applies updates to routers, switches, firewalls, & etc.
Support/configure KG175D and CSfC devices (Cisco ASA and 4300)
Configure, install, and support Cisco Call Managers for voice and video services
Build BOMs for the installation and support of site connectivity
Onsite support (field service) for customers
Work on tickets that the Help Desk (1st level) can't solve
Perform other duties as required
A minimum of ten (10) years of IT experience including eight (8) years related to network administration and analysis experience
Comprehensive knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in network administration and support
Comprehensive knowledge of routers, switches, patch panels, concentrators, associated terminals, and related network hardware and software
Comprehensive knowledge of desktop operating systems and applications
Active, in-scope US Government issued Secret clearance
Current IAT Level II certification (Security+ce, CCNA-Security, etc.)
Current DoD 8570.01-M Cybersecurity or Computing Environment related certifications required within 6 months of hire
Strong desire to learn, with good communication skills and strong attention to details
Position may require professional certification in one or more specific technologies, depending on job assignment
Due to the nature of the work and contract requirements, US citizenship is required.
Able to travel as required by customer and mission
Ability to support 24/7 operations
Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent years of experience) AND a minimum of five (5) years of related experience.
