Our Chesterfield-based Highways team currently has a vacancy for a Project Information Manager with experience of civil engineering within the highways sector. We are delivering several major highways design projects and are expanding our BIM team capabilities.

The successful candidate will have experience of using the industry-standard BIM applications and a proven record of delivering to quality, time and budget. They will have experience working as part of collaborative project teams, including the modelling of designs in a BIM environment. The role would suit a self-motivated individual looking to advance their career in a dynamic team.

Working closely with our Senior BIM Manager, you will:

  • Act as BIM Information Manager on projects complying with PAS 1192-2:2013 requirements to meet BIM level 2 requirements.

  • Assist with developing the project-specific BIM Execution Plan (BEP) to meet the Employer’s Information Requirements (EIR).

  • Manage the Project Information Model (PIM) in an efficient manner to comply with the BEP and any project standards and protocols.

  • Support and develop the project team to be self-sufficient in delivering the BEP, providing training and coaching where necessary.

  • Be responsible for adopt of BIM processes across the project team

  • Work with design teams to coordinate the design models, carry out model federation and extract information from the models for use by the project team .

  • Lead project-level, Interdisciplinary Design Reviews, conduct clash detection and report findings to the project manager.

  • Review and audit the design models form each specialist discipline, carrying out QC checks assure the quality of the models and data sets.

  • Manage the Common Data Environment (CDE) in accordance with project information standards and protocols including access controls

  • Assist with developing content libraries

You will

  • Be able to work without supervision, efficiently schedule and manage time, setting priorities to meet essential job functions.

  • Be able to work on multiple projects at once under demanding deadline

  • Be self-motivated, detail-oriented professional with strong organizational skills.

  • Be a good communicator with project teams and leadership.

  • Provide a leadership role to the junior modellers within the highways team

  • Maintain an overview of developments in CAD/BIM technologies, relevant BIM standards and Codes of Practice.

  • Be proactive in identifying and implementing improvement in BIM practices.

Minimum Requirements

  • Experience in design review process, model management and clash detention

  • Be conversant with BS1192 standards and relevant guidance associated with delivering a BIM environment to Level 2.

  • Past experience in a similar role, recognising that you may be seeking to step up from a more junior position.

  • Experience in design review process, model management and clash detention in a multi-disciplinary environment.

  • Experience using Autodesk and/or Bentley products.

  • Working within a ProjectWise Common Data Environment experience is essential.

  • Experience with Navisworks or Navigator would be highly desirable

Preferred Qualifications

  • A relevant degree qualification or equivalent experience.
