Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Ecology Intern for employment in the Clifton, NJ office. AECOM is searching for candidates that has the ability to be a role model, be client-focused, be impactful and be decisive.This is a multi-disciplinary position within the Environmental Businesses Line's Impact Assessment and Permitting Department.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist senior personnel in diverse fields of study including biology, ecology, geology, air and noise science and public planning

  • Utilize basic scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope.

  • Collect and enter data. (Collected data may include: desktop analysis, literature review, and/or field studies).

  • Conduct basic data analyses and summarize findings.

  • Assist in preparation of permit applications.

  • Internships are designed to introduce and build essential, hands on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional.

  • Interns are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience within their field of study

  • Intern 1 – completion of first year of qualified study

Minimum Requirements

  • AA/AS (US) + None or Diploma/Certification (Canada) + None

  • Valid U.S. Driver's License

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

  • Reliable transportation
