Associate Project Manager - Engineering

Under broad direction, this position is responsible for all phases of planning and execution on a medium-sized (typically less than $100 million total installed cost) project or may be responsible for a segment of a larger project. Plans, organizes, coordinates and controls projects in accordance with the established policies, procedures, systems, and requirements approved by the company. Has responsibility for day to day contact and communication with the client and focuses on providing client satisfaction. Possesses knowledge of the respective industry. Supervises personnel assigned to the project through subordinate leaders. May also serve as the proposal manager of medium-sized projects. Job role has budgetary type of accountabilities.

Requirements

  • Relevant Bachelor of Science or Masters of Science Engineering degree is required.
  • Minimum of 12 years related engineering experience, with average experience of 15-20 years
  • Project Management certification (e.g. PMP) desired.
  • 2 plus years of experience in managing capital projects.
  • Demonstrated hands-on field experience in facilities with process and equipment commissioning, safety reviews, performance testing, and troubleshooting. A working understanding of Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) is required along with a basic understanding of ASME, ANSI, NFPA, and other industry standards for design and construction.
  • Proven ability to successfully construct and start-up capital equipment and systems.
  • Leadership skills, including a demonstrated aptitude to work in teams and motivate others
  • Excellent written and oral English communications skills.
  • Positive attitude and highly organized.
  • Excellent computer skills with working knowledge of MS Office Suite and Outlook.
  • Project scheduling (MS Project, etc.) and cost forecasting skills.
