Job Summary

AECOM is seeking an Engineer to provide System Engineering (SE) and Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) support to the DoD missile and mechanical support equipment programs. Systems Engineers perform systems analysis and requirements analysis functions including functional analysis and allocation as well as requirements identification, decomposition, traceability, and verification and validation activities. Our SE's focus will be on the integration of new systems and capabilities into legacy weapon systems. Common tools used to support these activities include MagicDraw, DOORS, and Windchill. The MBSE Engineer will employ System Modeling language to graphically display system functions and requirements in system models and work closely in a team setting with the customer to describe the systems functional requirements, required behaviors, and interfaces. The selected candidate is expected to:

  • Possess experience providing acquisition, and engineering documentation, requirements analysis, requirements generation, and system design.

  • Support NSWC Crane and Navy SSP in the MBSE design efforts for the life cycle refresh of mechanical support equipment for the Ohio/Columbia class SSBN and Dreadnaught class UK SSBN.

  • Conduct Integrated Architecture and Model Based system design and engineering experience.

  • Support design and modeling elements with SysML and MagicDraw software.

  • Perform a range of design development, analysis or review tasks

  • Coordinate and work closely with other engineering, logistics, financial, and program management disciplines to define system specifications and requirements

  • Develop, maintain and produce technical documentation and system/subsystem specifications

  • Direct interface and liaison with customers at all levels from development to final design and test activities, design reviews and technical working group meetings to comply with requirements and specifications

  • Conduct site visits, support design reviews, attend system MBSE IPTs, analyze engineering problems, propose solutions and alternatives, and provide recommendations

  • Verify and comply with engineering documentation standards and test procedures.


Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related scientific field and at least 10 years of job-related experience.

  • Excellent communications and analytical skills; working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs.

  • Position will require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.

  • Position may require travel.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with MagicDraw, SysML, DoD, and/or INCOSE Systems Engineering processes.
