Job Summary

AECOM’s Water Business Unit is seeking a

Senior Project Manager for an immediate employment in the Salt Lake City, Utah office. This is a project manager role and will include working with clients, engineers and other project managers on a variety of projects within local, regional and national water resources and transportation markets. This individual should be a creative, highly talented project manager and engineer adept in business development, technically proficient, and have a successful track record of managing a team of professionals in a fast-paced multidisciplinary setting.

Position may include:

  • Water resources, hydrology, hydraulic engineering, or related field required

  • FEMA NFIP floodplain regulations and standards

  • Municipal stormwater and floodplain requirements and processes

  • Surface water modeling software, ArcGIS, and AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D

  • Leadership skills to manage a small team, or large project teams

  • In depth experience with 1-dimensional and 2-dimensional hydraulic modeling

  • Local and regional hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) methods accepted by state and federal agencies

  • Civil site design, hydrologic analysis, hydraulic analysis and design, concrete structures, earthwork, levees, dams, cost estimating, and project specifications

  • Army Corps of Engineers HEC software

Job Responsibilities:

  • Supporting, maintaining and building client relationships

  • Monitors and prepares project scope, plan, project schedule and budget, and communicates these with project team members

  • Business development in the form of conference presentations; identifying and tracking project opportunities with existing and new clients and leading proposal efforts from timely submission through project interviews

  • Mentoring junior and mid-level staff

  • Perform independent technical reviews of engineering reports and designs

  • Perform quality reviews and mentor aspiring engineers to manage projects

  • Executes AECOM’s Health and Safety procedures, policies and standards in project work

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS + 8 YORE or AA/AS (US) + 10 YORE or Diploma/Certificate (Canada) + 10 YORE or HS/GED + 12 YORE

Preferred Qualifications

  • B.S. or M.S in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in water resources, hydrology, hydraulic engineering, or related field required

  • 15+ years of proven progressive experience in water resources

  • Experience with FEMA NFIP floodplain regulations and standards

  • Experience with municipal stormwater and floodplain requirements and processes

  • Experience in using variety of surface water modeling software, ArcGIS, and AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D

  • Ability to travel for work

  • Leadership skills to manage a small team, or large project teams

  • In depth experience with 1-dimenstional and 2-dimenstional hydraulic modeling

  • A knowledge of the local and regional hydrologic and hydraulic methods accepted by state and federal agencies

  • Experience with civil site design, hydrologic analysis, hydraulic analysis and design, concrete structures, earthwork, levees, dams, cost estimating, and project specifications

  • Experience using the full suite of Army Corps of Engineers HEC software

  • Professional License Requirement:

  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is required, or the ability to obtain Utah reciprocity from the Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing (DOPL) within six months

  • Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) is preferred
