Job Summary

The Vice President of Tax will directly supervise employees in the tax department and manage the financial management in the area of Company-wide tax processing, tax filing, tax reporting and compliance.Carries out Supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees, planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • Develop and implement tax vision, planning and strategy for a complex, internal organization

  • Direct all areas of tax compliance, including income, property, sales/use, excise and payroll

  • Manage business tax licenses

  • Lead income tax review, analysis, deal structuring, and integration planning relating to M&A

  • Assist with global statutory tax accounting as needed.

  • Provide income tax forecasting and tax provision analysis including leaning of existing processes, establishment and monitoring of global income tax reserves, analysis of valuation allowances, foreign remitted and unremitted earnings, tax credits and assessments of impacts of current and future Tax law changes.

  • Partner with international tax planning and transfer pricing professionals on business strategy projects to provide tax accounting and/or compliance expertise.

  • Supervise the preparation and review of quarterly tax provisions

  • Lead and direct tax due diligence process for potential mergers, acquisitions, or other business transactions. Assist with drafting tax sections of merger agreements

  • Oversee audits by all taxing jurisdictions

Minimal Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) from four-year college or university in Accounting or Business and 15 or more years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 15-plus years of experience in tax preparation and compliance, including at least 8 in income tax and 7 in supervisory role

  • Proven business acumen with the ability to understand business situations, strategies, and processes and to apply tax regulations to them appropriately

  • Demonstrates high critical thinking and reasoning skills with strong attention to detail while working in a fast paced environment that requires the ability to prioritize and multitask

  • Strong interpersonal skills and a high degree of collaboration at all levels

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal

  • Ability to explain tax rules in simple terms

  • Knowledge across all areas of tax, with deep knowledge of corporate income tax and ASC740

  • Position requires travel.

Preferred

  • Certificated Public Accountant
