AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Program Director to join our Global Retail EPCM account. The Program Director of Operations will report to the Regional Business Line Leader VP and Global Program VP. The position is based out of the Burnaby, BC.
To perform in this position successfully, an individual must be able to client face daily to prepare and manage annual staff plans and day to day pipeline feasibility, design development, permit, construction and handover activities. The successful candidate will champion Program HSSE activities including presenting corporate safety day.
Primary Responsibilities: Annually plan and direct day to day operations for the CANADA Retail Program within the Global Framework and End-to-End guidelines, providing operational, project delivery, and technical leadership including project management, technical excellence, client satisfaction, quality assurance, safety, resource allocation, and employee development and training. Initiates and maintains extensive contacts with client staff, internal business lines, technical experts within the company and with other external organizations and companies. Responsible for the health, safety, and well-being of employees in house and field managed projects. Champions the AECOM Safety for Life Program and ensures goal zero incident techniques are utilized and measured.
Analyzing program operational performance and proactively identifies areas of improvement including analyzing key KPIs
Core competencies in professional staff development, mentorship, and retention are critical. In an operations role, supports the continued growth and development of a professional environment for a creative enterprise, built on design and delivery excellence.
Collaborate with AECOM Global Delivery Solutions as well as external design sub consultants to deliver the permitting and design components of the program.
Maintain and grow the supply chain and qualified general contractors for Value Improvements.
Attending/hosting monthly Global Program workstream calls and semi-annual Global Country Manager meetings.
Becoming an AECOM certified Project Manager
Communicates with staff to ensure that all E2E processes are delivered and executed in a positive and effective manner
Primary Responsibilities: Client engagement, program management all client identified projects: Including project leadership, innovation, KPI targets, VI targets, quality assurance and controls; Margin achievement through technical expertise and best practices; Client satisfaction.
Program delivery and client service includes: Project staffing oversight, workload balancing, and technical work in accordance with AECOM’s TQRR and client expectations for the delivery of contracted scopes of work and developed budgets, and to corporate, professional, quality, safety and legislative standards. Responsible for effective project reviews and ensures quality assurance compliance. Develops technical standards and implements best practices. Acts as an advisor to client and acts as an advisor to staff on client expectations, project delivery, technical practice as outlined in the Global Framework and Country Contract.
Primary Responsibilities: Annual planning, hiring, development, management, deployment, retention and engagement of employees. As the Program Lead, the Program Operations Manager leads the program recruitment, management, leadership and development of the Retail team. Builds high performance, collaborative teams who demonstrate a strong focus on clients, a commitment to excellence and innovation, and strong employee engagement. Champions the Performance + Rewards program and succession planning processes. Ensures that AECOM programs such as Sustainability, Corporate Social Responsibility, Diversity and Inclusion, and Ethics & Compliance are a significant part of the organizational culture.
Permitting, Design and Project Managers. Total current program staff is 21 excluding external sub consultants and sub contractors.
Bachelor's Degree in related field
8+ years of experience with four years in a program operations role
Proven record of delivery work, managing teams and sub contractors in a collaborative win-win manner.
Proven Health and Safety Champion
Familiar with SharePoint and document controls
Ability to lead and be decisive; strategic mindset
Proven financial and operational acumen
15+ years of relevant experience is ideal
Proven delivery as Program Manager on Retail Fuel Outlets
Member of Professional or Technical Society
