Job Summary
We are currently looking for people who have an interest in civil engineering but don't have any formal engineering qualifications. This is a great opportunity to join a large international civil engineering consultancy at a ground/entry-level.
Due to the nature of this position, you will have a flexible approach to working hours (day or night) and sometimes at weekends and, be prepared to take on responsibility and have a willingness to learn.
The roles are available within the Highways Operations team who are primarily involved with assessing the condition of highways, ports, and airfields.
Job duties:
Requires the use of a number of in-situ surveying techniques, such as:
Visual Condition Surveys
Rotary Diamond Coring
Falling Weight Deflectometer testing
Dynamic Cone Penetrometer
Trial Pitting, and Window Sampling
Minimum Requirements
You will have a range of GCSE’s A-C or equivalent, and be computer literate
Good communication skills are essential
Good attention to detail
You will need a full driving licence including classification B (We will provide a company transit van or car for business use only)
Ideally, you will have your own transport, as you will be working some unsocial hours
Previous experience in this field would be beneficial, but full training will be provided to suitable candidates. The position involves extensive travel throughout the UK and can, depending upon the project location, require individuals to work away from Nottingham for short durations, typically up to a week at a time.
