Job Title: Knowledge Management Specialist/SharePoint Specialist

Location: Washington, DC

Review and update current KM/BP policies and draft KM/BP strategies with recommendations for changes and realignment with DOD instructions, Federal law, industry standards, external best practices, and other guidance as applied to Federal and Government Knowledge management and Business Process Reengineering, Improvement and Management.
Provide recommendations, development and maintenance of KM programs to include goals, objectives, mission, vision, and implementation plans in a KM strategy. May consist of creation, design, and maintenance of web pages, workflows, sites and solutions.
Assist with design and fundamental management of portal sites, to include sub-sites. Provide technical guidance, advice, and assistance based upon customer policies and industry best practices.
Perform portal management to ensure current, relevant and accurate information. Monitor SharePoint functionality to ensure workflows are employed correctly, perform ongoing research to determine SharePoint's current and future capabilities and liaise with stakeholders regarding the migration of sites when necessary.
Provide end-user and Site Owner support to users, composing training aides/material and leveraging available resources. Coordinate requirements for developing training materials with COR, and government leads. Update and develop training material to include quick reference guides, computer based tutorials, briefs, etc. for collaborative tools, applications and processes, made available online. Conduct classroom or desk-side training as required in support of KM initiatives and mission requirements.
Assist Directorates to enhance the collaborative capturing, sharing, managing, and re-using of the staff's knowledge assets.
Collaborate with Knowledge Management Officers and end users to identify requirements and opportunities for improved collaboration and productivity.
Document and create KM processes and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as assigned.
Plan, develop, and execute strategic communications on new processes and updates to existing enterprise information systems.
Identify and document processes that could be handled by capabilities and features within the collaboration tools, to include portals, messaging systems and production applications.
Engage internal and external stakeholder communities to ensure successful implementation and sustainment of KM processes and procedures.
Perform requirements gathering, analysis, and recommendations of IT requirements change process when determined to be appropriate.
Attend and support KM meetings, conferences, and seminars to advocate KM processes and programs. Provide feedback from various forums to the COR and make available to KM team and users as appropriate.
Develop customer feedback process, document feedback, recommend, and implement changes to improve customer satisfaction related to KM activities, to include analysis of the Collaborative Tools Course feedback collected to recommend enhancements or changes.
Draft messaging for dissemination to KMOs in support of KM activities.
Recommend communication initiatives to strengthen awareness of knowledge sharing benefits, behaviors, processes, procedures and tools.
Coordinate or liaise with other KM staff across the organizations to ensure optimal use of resources, sharing of best practices, and synchronization of efforts.
Project Management responsibilities include the establishment and administration of alerts to monitor activity on critical information as required. Establishing and enforcing governance rules. Planning and implementing monthly SharePoint Power User group meetings and convey information to the team. Compile monthly reports on usage and progress of site collection.

Meet and maintain active Security Clearance requirement
Bachelor's Degree and minimum of 5 years' experience or Associates Degree with 5-7 years of military experience.
Possess Certified Information Professional (CIP) and/or KM Certification, or industry equivalent highly recommended.
Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience with KM and Elements of Change Management.
Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience with Joint / military headquarters and executive leadership engagement experience highly recommended.
