Removes, replaces, services, prepares, preserves, cleans and stores engine assembly or components. Disassemble, examine, evaluate, repair, reassembles, adjusts, diagnostically tests T-55 and T-700 series turbine engine systems, subsystems and components according to directives, technical data and DMWR’s. Assist in troubleshooting engines and rigging engine controls. Perform limited maintenance operational checks. Uses and performs user maintenance on common and special tools. Requisitions and maintains shop and bench stock for repair of aircraft engines. Prepares request for turn-ins and repairs parts and engine components. Prepare forms and records. Replaces or repair worn or damaged components, such as fuel controls, fuel pumps, oil pumps, and engine mounted gearboxes, and compressor bleed valves using hand tools, gauges, and multiple types of detailed testing, measuring and diagnosing equipment (TMDE) including various types of micrometers and Zeiss computerized precision measuring machine.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and taste or smell. Frequently lifts items weighing 30-35. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, extreme heat, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud. Employee will be required to report to their immediate supervisor any and all unsafe conditions, question nonstandard operations or environmental factors that may involve unmitigated hazards, and provide feedback to supervisors and managers on all safety issues.
Work is performed indoors in steam booth and hot and cold line platforms where noise, odors, fumes and steam are prevalent. Incumbent is exposed to burns from caustic solvents as well as danger from falling parts. Subject to cuts and abrasions from handling parts, brushes, air hoses, etc. Required to wear protective clothing and gear such as aprons, face masks, safety shoes, respirators, safety glasses and gloves as working conditions may warrant.

Must be a U.S. Citizen.
High School graduate or equivalent with a minimum two (2) years actual and recent depot level rotary aircraft maintenance / repair experience is required.
Knowledge of the installation and operation of aircraft turbine engines and accessory systems.
Thorough knowledge of aircraft turbine engine disassembly and assembly practices and procedures. Ability to troubleshoot, disassemble, repair, modify, overhaul, and assemble aircraft turbine engines, major modules, components, assemblies and/or sub-assemblies.
Skilled in the use of measuring devices, interpretation and application of technical orders, maintenance bulletins, test cell run sheets, and/or work requirements.
Competent in use of basic computer software and able to execute work in an Enterprise Requirements Planning (ERP) environment.
Previous aviation rotary wing engine repair experience desired.
Knowledge and use of special tools / equipment required to perform assigned maintenance tasks is mandatory.
Must be able to meet physical requirements associated with and/or pass any medical examination requirements related to performing daily assigned tasks.
May be required to pass a U.S. Government background security check.
Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
