Job Summary

We are currently seeking a Senior Tax Analyst to join our office in Germantown, MD. The position will report directly to the Director of Global Mobility and will be responsible for managing the day-to-day tasks associated with maintaining the tax equalization program, along with advising stakeholders on tax matters relating to international assignments and business travelers, per the Company’s policy.

Essential Responsibilities:

Research/review shadow payroll requirements in host jurisdictions and advise of local tax laws and regulations around employer/employee payroll obligations.

Apply for and track the expiration date of certificate of coverage for all current assignees.

Analyze and calculate employee’s hypothetical tax withholding prior to and during the assignment period.

Coordinate with Payroll to ensure expatriate employee is properly setup for reporting and withholding requirements while on assignment.

Collect imputed benefit details from projects and provide to Payroll for them to impute/gross-up.

Obtain stock details from the respective stakeholders to create required schedules regarding specific grant to vesting dates that must be identified and provided to the tax vendor for required reporting on the tax return.

Review expatriate compensation reports and W-2’s to ensure proper payroll reporting, including research and resolution of any differences.

Prepare tax return authorization lists and coordinate other related services with external tax service provider.

Track tax equalization settlements and ensure all settlements are completed and paid.

Review all vendor invoices for accuracy, and route for processing.

Work closely with Global Mobility colleagues in preparing cost projections, via AssignmentPro.

Advise stakeholders on matters relating to the tax equalization policy.

Respond to international relocation tax queries from stakeholders, to include tax notices/audit requests.

Contribute to the development and review of tax equalization and international assignment policies.

Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

Bachelor's Degree required.

Minimum 3-4 years of international / cross-border assignment tax experience

Excellent verbal communication and writing skills

Basic skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint (AssignmentPro a plus)
