Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a highly talented and creative Project Manager for our Buildings + Places Sports Group in Kansas City, MO.

The candidate AECOM Sports is looking for will have an interest in working in a dynamic and collaborative global design environment in the design of sports venues at the professional and collegiate levels. We are seeking a Project Manager to join our award-winning professionals in our Kansas City office that has:

  • Traits that would be considered as adaptable, passionate, creative, engaged, energetic, assertive, persuasive optimistic, proactive, confident, culture empowering to join us in a dynamic and collaborative design atmosphere. They are considered an influential observer that is capable of analytical and abstract thought processes across many multi-dimensional levels.

  • Posses exceptional financial understanding and project management technical abilities and be adept at managing multiple, changing, quick-paced and time sensitive projects.

  • Our Project Managers work directly with high-profile clients and universities, our studio team members across multiple offices and regions, and national and international engineering consultant partners to fulfill the vision of the client and/or stakeholders by having a plan that allows for the team to create and producing innovative design solutions that are aligned to scope, schedule and budget. PMs are actively involved in all project phases and act as the overall team resource for coordinating, scheduling, reviewing, evaluating, and developing processes designed to improve production efficiencies and profitability through the effective management of team members and projects.

  • Abilities to prepare fee proposals supported by both a top-down and bottoms-up analysis aligning to scope and schedule and track costs against the planned performance. Anticipate and identify potential schedule or priority delays and initiate means and methods for alternative actions or budget correction strategies to get back to budget.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field

  • 6+ years of manager experience of an Architectural Project Manager w/in an A/E office or similar Owner's Rep experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Diversified knowledge of architectural principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields

  • Working knowledge of project design and construction document production, standard construction techniques and principals

  • Experience coordinating work, civil, structural and MEP disciplines

  • Field experience with observing construction progress and capable of providing construction administration services

  • Achieve certification as an AECOM Project Manager within 6 months of hire

  • Registered architectural licensed is preferred

  • NCARB registration and/or PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification

  • Previous project management experience in large assembly architecture such as sport stadium, arenas, convention centers, airports or religious facilities is preferred

  • Contribute to the architectural design and its development in support of the overall project
