AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Senior Water Resources Planner/Engineer for immediate employment in our Orange, CA office. The selected candidate will lead the strategy, development, and oversight of planning and design projects involving water supply, wastewater, stormwater, and recycled water. The primary duties of this position include the production of water and wastewater system hydraulic modeling and master plan deliverables (including reports, technical memoranda, capital programs, plans, sections, details, specifications, and estimates). He/she will have a high level of initiative, motivation, and display drive, energy, and enthusiasm for getting things done.
Developing and utilizing distribution, collection and conveyance system hydraulic models.
Completing distribution, collection, reuse, and water supply master plans.
Preparing master planning reports and capital improvement program recommendations.
Performing GIS data analysis, system optimization and rehabilitation studies.
Performing technical hydraulic evaluations that could include transient analysis, pressurized water and sewer systems, and computational fluid dynamics modeling.
Preparing Preliminary Engineering Reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
Management of water and wastewater projects including: water and wastewater system modeling, evaluation and detailed design of water and wastewater treatment plants, supply wells, water reuse systems, distribution systems, conveyance, storage, and pipeline projects.
Developing client relationships and assisting in marketing local business opportunities.
Professional Engineering License in the state of California, or the ability to acquire such license in the state through reciprocity within six months of employment.
Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering from an ABET accredited program.
10+ years of progressive hydraulic modeling and master planning experience, focused on water distribution and/or wastewater collection systems, working in an engineering consulting firm or utility.
Proficiency in commercial hydraulic modeling software applications such as InfoWater, WaterGEMS, WaterCAD, EPANET, InfoSewer, SewerGEMS, SewerCAD, InfoSWWM and InfoWorks.
Proficiency in ArcGIS, mapping and analysis.
Excellent written/verbal communication, presentation, and proposal writing skills.
Proven client relationship and management skills.
Strong team leadership and mentoring skills.
Master’s Degree in Engineering.
Experience with clients in the Los Angeles and Orange County water business markets.
Interest or experience in asset management, condition assessment and rehabilitation, knowledge management, regulatory support, sustainability, and operations and maintenance optimization.
