Job Summary

  • Mechanical Engineering design in the Building Services sector with focus on Commercial and Industrial projects,

  • Mechanical Engineering Design including HVAC, Compressed Air, Process Cooling, Technical Gas etc,

  • Sustain and nurture client relationships with existing and new clients,

  • Preparation of Bids and Proposals for mechanical scope of services including pricing,

  • Proficient in relevant Mechanical Engineering software,

  • Liaison with local authorities including Council submissions and sign-off,

  • Provide technical training and mentorship to less experienced team members

  • Technical quality enforcement including design reviews and sign-off,

  • Interfacing of designs with other disciplines e.g. structural, architectural, mechanical & electrical,

  • Handling full scope of mechanical engineering consulting services on projects from concept to close-out,

  • Implementing and ensuring of compliance to company quality management system,

  • Use of international and local design standards and codes of practice i.e. SANS, BS & EN,

  • Report to Mechanical Practice Area Lead on project and team performance,

  • Maintain awareness of compliance to safety and quality standards and integration of design.

Minimum Requirements

  • 7+ years Experience in Mechanical Building services environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • B.Sc. or B.Eng. Mechanical Engineering

  • Pr.Eng. with ECSA essential

  • Revit/BIM knowledge preferred

  • General knowledge of integrated architectural and engineering practice

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, and Outlook)

  • Must be detail-oriented, consistent and highly accurate in the work

  • Good communications skills: interpersonal, listening, oral, and written

  • Ability to set priorities in an efficient and timely manner to meet essential job functions.

  • Must be a team player, have a positive attitude, and be a self-starter.

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

  • Possess a strong work ethic
