The Whole Life Engineering Directorate (WLED) is made up of several disciplines whose main objective is to influence hardware and systems early in their life cycle to assure effective operation, reliability, maintainability and economical ownership by the customer and end user.

Reliability, Availability, Maintainability (RAM) Engineering is responsible for all aspects of RAM activity within the Integrated Defense Systems (IDS) business unit.

The RAM Engineer ensures performance compliance of both customer and internal requirements.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following

• Perform RAM trade-off analyses
• Assess RAM performance (MTBF, MTBCF, Ao)
• Define/allocate RAM requirements
• Perform Reliability Predictions
• Perform Failure Modes Effects Criticality Analysis (FMECA
• Support Reliability Test Planning and Execution (Accelerated, Growth, Demonstration)
• Provide support to proposals

Required Skills:

  • Four (4)+ years of related engineering experience.
  • Experience with Reliability Engineering Concepts
    • Assessing RAM performance (MTBF, MTBCF, Ao)
    • Conducting data analysis and trending
    • Defining / allocating RAM requirements
    • Performing Reliability Predictions
    • Performing Failure Modes Effects Criticality Analysis (FMECA)
    • Perform RAM trade-off analyses
    • Experience assessing RAM performance of fielded equipment.
Desired Skills:
  • Strong communication skills; Ability to present to diverse audiences
  • Ability & desire to work in large teams
  • Experience with the Testability
  • Active Secret Clearance or eligibility to obtain Secret Clearance
  • Certification in the area of Reliability, Availability and Maintainability (ASQ CRE)
  • Experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
  • Master of Science in Engineering Degree
  • Ability to obtain a US Government security clearance within the first year of employment.
Required Education (including Major):
BS in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM).
